I have broken topics into several categories. If your kids are very young and you are carrying or pulling them, you can check out Skiing with Kids- Parent Powered. It covers backpacks, pulk sleds and other ways of transporting your kids. If your kids are old enough to ski themselves you may want to check out Skiing with Kids - Kid Powered. This will lead to questions on equipment so Selecting Equipment for your kids, Choosing the right equipment for your Bill Koch skier, and Guide to Ski Maintenance for BKL Skiers will probably be of interest. Mary Hamel's article on games will give you some ideas on how to make skiing fun.
Once your kids are skiing, the best way to keep them interested and having fun is to sign them up for the Bill Koch League. The Sudbury Bill Koch League serves the greater Boston area. For other programs see New England Bill Koch League Clubs. These programs teach basic skills and introduce children to some low-key competition, with an annual New England festival being the highlight of the season (two full days of fun with about 20 minutes of racing). Seeing other kids skiing well, particularly seeing older kids, is great motivation for new skiers. The program is as much about enjoying the outdoors with other kids who like the outdoors as it is about skiing. The friendships and the off season informal activities (orienteering, hiking etc.) are just as important as skiing to my kids as they get to see friends that they otherwise wouldn't see.
